  24. I'm hoping to do this (Put an IDE drive in my a1200). But, you have to make
  25. sure of a couple of things:

  27. You have an ATAPI drive. This is a must. But seeing as you've already got the
  28. drive you're stuffed if it isn't.
  29. You have some ATAPI software. It's on Aminet (idefix.lha) (atapi.lha) or
  30. commercial (asimCDFS). This is why you need an ATAPI drive you see :)
  31. You don't make your cable too long. IDE wasn't really designed for external
  32. devices, as it isn't buffered on the A1200, so keep it short (out thru' the
  33. PCMCIA port?) and try to avoid interferance.

  35. And regarding the PSU, there is a 50-50 chance of it putting enough juice out,
  36. but it's not hard to make a replacement from a PC unit, email me if you want
  37. some more info on this
